Irish K. Money
My Personal Art
Objective… I want my ART GLASS to make you STOP, LOOK, and WONDER!
How did I physically create this art
glass? Why did I choose those particular
colors? Why did I display the subject in that
way? Can you interpret my intended meaning?
Hopefully, for a moment in a busy day, you will relax and forget this troubled world. PERHAPS EVEN SMILE!
PRESENTING A FRESH NEW LOOK
IN GLASS...
ARTIST:
Irish K. Money I have been working with Sand-Carved glass for 20 years. Art education was my chosen field while attending classes at Marshall University in Huntington W. Va. Charcoal, Pastel, and Figure drawing classes through accredited classes at Huntington Gallery. As a teenager I worked as a sketch Artist (before computers) on a small Flatwoods Ky. town paper. (I design the blasting designs on this site) Marriage, kids, and life put a temporary stop to my art. But it did not stop on my art interests like glass etching. This obsession for glass etching developed into the Art Glass you see today. I sand-carve my own original pen and ink designs. My designs are usually a mix of sand-carving with mosaic, or stained glass. I am experimenting in free form and multi-dimensional 2-D mosaic. A unique and exciting way to do a mosaic. Presently, I live in Knoxville Tennessee, work part time, and spend most of my spare free time experimenting on fabulous new ways to design Art Glass! Note from the Irish: I often work with my daughter E. Shae Money Allen CRACKED FOCUS POINT 3' X 3 1/2' Free form style mosaic mirror.

E. Shae Money Allen Art glass has been a part of my life since early childhood. As a young girl I spent many hours in my mothers studio watching, learning, and growing along with her. I cut my first sand-blasting stencil at the age of ten. A bird my mother still has that simple glass panel. That childhood game developed into a deep love of art glass. My mosaic's are a blend of intense color, and unusual design content. I strive constantly to develop my own distinctive art style. I hope you find that my art work has a unique style that mine alone. |
